David Melnyk, CFP®, is a dedicated Retirement Plan Specialist with more than a decade of experience helping employers build stronger, more efficient 401(k) programs. He partners closely with plan sponsors, HR teams, and fiduciary committees to reduce administrative burden and plan costs, improve participant engagement, and strengthen plan governance. David has supported dozens of retirement plan committees and worked with thousands of participants through clear, practical financial education.
 
As a teenager, David faced a life-altering challenge when he was diagnosed with a rare form of liver cancer. The experience abruptly shifted his world and forced him to confront uncertainty far beyond his years. Following a liver transplant and four years of chemotherapy, he is grateful to be cancer-free. He also now carries with him a deep understanding of how precious time is and how essential it becomes to have options when life takes unexpected turns. That journey didn’t just change him; it gave him a clear sense of purpose. Today, it fuels his passion for financial wellness and inspires his work helping employees build long-term financial security, ensuring they have more options available when they need them most.
 
A graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Finance), David also served as a Teaching Assistant for the Business Finance course, helping students with varying levels of financial knowledge understand key concepts. He now applies this skillset when educating plan committees and employees.
 
David specializes in optimizing plan design, reducing administrative friction, and elevating employee financial wellness. His expertise includes ERISA fiduciary support, investment due diligence, fee and vendor benchmarking, participant education strategy, and compliance with IRS and Department of Labor regulations.
 
David is known for simplifying complex retirement-plan concepts, delivering actionable recommendations, and being exceptionally easy to work with. His goal is to make the retirement plan simpler for employers, more rewarding for employees, and fully aligned with each organization’s objectives. This approach gives employers confidence that their plan is well-run, cost-effective while providing employees with the clarity and resources they need to retire with dignity. He approaches every client relationship as a long-term partnership built on responsiveness, transparency, and measurable results.
 
Outside of work, David enjoys spending time with his wife, Jen, and their two daughters. Whether at the beach, in the mountains, or simply enjoying the outdoors, their family thrives on being active and outside together while creating new memories.
